MARKETING AND EVENTS INTERN Hours: 15-20 hours per week Part-time -Seasonal Pay: Starting at $14.00-15.00/hr
OVERVIEW Downtown is the heart of West Bend. It is the hub that connects retail and service businesses with cultural, entertainment, residential, and healthy recreational opportunities. It is vibrant and progressive--serving visitors and residents, who live, work, shop, and play here without leaving the district. Days and well-lit evenings, downtown is alive with people strolling, shopping, sitting, eating, conversing--enjoying life on Main Street and along the river walkway. The Downtown West Bend Association is a non-profit organization that focuses on preserving and revitalizing Downtown West Bend to combat community deterioration. The Downtown West Bend Association is a non-profit organization. Our focus is to provide the community with fun and family friendly events that highlight our historic downtown and all it has to offer. Some of the events that the Downtown West Bend Association hosts include: Winter Warm-Up, The Wine Hop, ArtWalk, Farmers' Market, Music on Main, Maxwell Street, Wheels on Main, Winter on Main, and Fall Fest.

DESCRIPTION The Marketing and Events Intern is excited, creative, takes initiative and is enthusiastic about the downtown West Bend and all the events. This person is a champion for the downtown in the community and an active member of the team onsite at events. This internship will provide you with exposure to all facets of marketing, event planning and community engagement, brand management and executing events. We are looking for an intern between Memorial Day – Labor Day 2022 (flexible schedule).
DUTIES -Assist with the implementation of the organization’s marketing plan and advertising campaigns -Represent the Downtown West Bend Association at events. -Distribute promotional materials throughout the community -Publish event information to community calendars, and track as needed -Assistance and participation in/at DWBA special events is required -Create and publish marketing content across platforms to include social media, video, and e-blasts) -Update organization’s website as needed -Prepare and update fliers and marketing materials -Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS -Students currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in marketing, hospitality, or a related field -Excellent communication skills, oral and written including proof-reading skills -Ability to handle multiple projects and work assignments -Experience and/or interest in the entertainment industry, non-profit organization, and community development -Exceptional time management skills -Must be flexible, adaptable, and willing to take on new tasks as needed -Must be able to work with and around many interruptions
